Under 9s – Boys and Girls (Aged 8-9)

The Under 9s team is for boys and girls aged 8-9 (School Year 4). At this stage, players continue to develop their core footballing skills while beginning to understand more structured aspects of the game.

Training sessions focus on advancing ball mastery, accurate passing, dribbling under pressure, and shooting techniques. Players are also introduced to small-sided tactical concepts such as space awareness, marking, and movement off the ball.

Children will play regular 7-a-side matches, offering a safe and supportive environment where players can apply their learning in game situations. Matches emphasise fair play, inclusion, and teamwork above results.

Coaches aim to balance fun with development, encouraging every child to express themselves on the pitch while growing in confidence and understanding. Sessions remain energetic and engaging, designed to support each player's unique journey in football.

Under 9s football continues to build on the foundation of enjoyment, developing key skills and positive habits that will benefit players as they progress through the age groups.
